Diddy’s Mailing a Smile Project

Spreading Cheer through the Mail

Our (almost 3 year old) daughter Diddy loves to send and receive mail. As a fun activity, Mom and Diddy are working on sending cards to family, friends, friends of friends, family of friends, friends of family, anyone that might need a smile! We are keeping track of locations we send cards to, so we can map out all of the different places Diddy has sent smiles. Learning geography, talking about how different the states in our country are. (and world!! we have sent 4 international cards so far) We are hoping this continues to foster Diddy’s love of learning.

If you’ve received a card from Diddy, just know that it was sent with lots of love and a big hug. There have been a lot of stresses and sadness in the last few years, and we know that sometimes just a little kindness can change your day. Mom posted to her Facebook friends to see if anyone might need a little cheer. If you don’t know Diddy, just know that someone that loves you put in a request for you. :) If you can’t figure out how we know someone you know, some clues - Diddy’s parents are glassblowers, her mom is a birder, her dad is a snowboarder… we are lovers of the outdoors. Maybe someone you love knows us through the glass or photography community. :)

Please know, there are no strings attached with our cards! You do not need to send anything in return. In fact, we would love it if instead you passed on a random act of kindness to someone who needs it. I am sure there is someone in your life that could use a pick me up, send a smile to someone!

Also - photography credit from the cards to Diddy’s mom Ali. Her obsession with birds gave us some content for the cards. You may have received any of the following, pileated woodpecker, annas hummingbird, rufous hummingbird, white crowned sparrow, bald eagle, etc.. All of the birds photographed are in our area in western washington state.
